Based on the strategy the tier of a drug might change and hence the copay will change accordingly. The copay for the suggested alternative drug is termed as New Copay. E.g., Crestor 10MG is a branded drug (tier-2) which has a copay of $25 for 30 days-supply, whereas its generic Rosuvastatin Calcium 10MG is a generic drug (tier-1) having a copay of $10. So if a patient takes Rosuvastatin Calcium 10MG instead of Crestor 10MG then they would pay the new copay of $10 instead of $25.
